TAKREEM Laureate Dr. Suad Al Amiry Receives Great Arab Minds Award
Dr. Suad Al Amiry of Palestine, recipient of the TAKREEM Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021, has been awarded the 2025 Great Arab Minds Award in the Architecture and Design category, further recognizing her decades-long dedication to preserving Palestinian architectural heritage. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, congratulated Dr. Al Amiry on her achievement, praising her pioneering work in restoring historic buildings and adapting them in ways that strengthen architectural identity and support local communities. Founder and Director of the Riwaq Centre for Architectural Conservation, Dr. Al Amiry has played a leading role in one of the largest architectural documentation initiatives in Palestine, registering more than 50,000 historic buildings and contributing to the revitalization of 50 historic centers, while actively involving residents and artisans in preservation efforts. Through her work, Dr. Al Amiry has helped safeguard cultural memory, train generations of artisans, and affirm architecture as a powerful expression of identity and continuity. Her recognition by Great Arab Minds stands as a renewed affirmation of the values celebrated by TAKREEM: excellence, impact, and enduring contribution to Arab culture and society.
