Sobhi Batterjee - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Eng. Sobhi Batterjee, President and CEO of the Saudi German Hospitals (SGH) Group, is a distinguished leader in healthcare, credited with transforming the private health sector in the Middle East. Holding both a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kansas and a master’s with honors from the University of Colorado, Batterjee initially pursued a career in engineering.
However, his vision soon shifted towards healthcare, leading him to co-found SGH, which has grown into the largest healthcare developer in the MENA region. Under his leadership, SGH has expanded to operate world-class tertiary care hospitals across Saudi Arabia and Yemen, with plans to establish dozens more facilities and medical colleges.
SGH is recognized not only for its premier healthcare services but also for its commitment to education, running the largest private medical university in the region alongside a network of nursing and allied sciences institutes. Batterjee is equally committed to providing sustainable healthcare solutions for underserved populations, a goal that remains at the core of his mission to enhance medical services across the Middle East.
