Salma Dannawi Oueida, an accomplished alumna of the American University of Beirut (AUB), currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Development, Alumni Relations, and University Events. With a background in both an Executive MBA and a Bachelor of Electrical and Communication Engineering, she embarked on her journey at AUB in 2003 as a Director of Development. Over the years, her dedication and expertise have propelled her through the ranks, culminating in her appointment as Associate Vice President in 2022. Ms. Oueida boasts a wealth of experience in organizational management, fundraising, business development, alumni engagement, and event planning. Her remarkable talent lies in establishing and nurturing relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporations, foundations, alumni, and volunteer groups. Throughout her tenure, she has broken records in fundraising and alumni involvement, spearheading innovative programs and initiatives for AUB’s faculties and the AUB Medical Center (AUBMC). Salma’s influence extends beyond AUB, as she has consulted with educational institutions in the Gulf and MENA region, advising on the establishment of development and alumni relations offices. She is a respected member of the CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) Middle East Planning Committee and sits on the boards of various NGOs, including “Nusaned,” while actively participating in the “Lebanese League for Women in Business.” Additionally, she holds membership in the Lebanese Order of Engineers and Architects. Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Salma Oueida was honored with the President’s Service Excellence Award in 2010, a testament to her unwavering commitment to students, patients, and colleagues. Her leadership and dedication continue to play a pivotal role in AUB’s fundraising campaigns and alumni engagement efforts, ensuring the university’s continued success and growth.
