Salma Dannawi Oueida, an alumna of the American University of Beirut (AUB), is the Associate Vice President for Development, Alumni Relations, and University Events. With an Executive MBA and a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Communication Engineering, she began her AUB career in 2003 as Director of Development, advancing to Associate Vice President in 2022.

Oueida has extensive experience in organizational management, fundraising, business development, alumni engagement, and event planning, excelling in building relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporations, foundations, alumni, and volunteer groups.

Throughout her tenure, she has set records in fundraising and alumni involvement, leading initiatives for AUB’s faculties and the AUB Medical Center. Salma has also consulted with educational institutions in the Gulf and MENA regions on developing alumni and fundraising offices. She serves on the CASE Middle East Planning Committee and boards for NGOs like “Nusaned,” and actively participates in the “Lebanese League for Women in Business.” A member of the Lebanese Order of Engineers and Architects, she was awarded the President’s Service Excellence Award in 2010, underscoring her commitment to AUB’s community and its mission.
