Razan Al Mubarak Appointed UAE Special Envoy for Nature
The United Arab Emirates has reaffirmed its global commitment to nature conservation and biodiversity protection with the appointment of Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak as Special Envoy for Nature by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. This new role will strengthen the UAE’s position as a leading voice for sustainable development, aligning the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ policies with national stakeholders to ensure that environmental objectives are fully integrated into the country’s broader strategic priorities. It will also support the creation of a unified national agenda for nature, reinforcing the UAE’s global role in tackling urgent environmental challenges. Razan Al Mubarak is internationally recognized for her leadership in sustainability. She served as the UN High-Level Climate Champion for COP28 in Dubai and has consistently worked to advance collective action on climate and biodiversity. Her appointment reflects not only her distinguished track record but also the UAE’s steadfast commitment to advancing environmental diplomacy at both regional and international levels. Notably, Razan Al Mubarak was honored by TAKREEM in 2022 as the Laureate for Sustainability and Environmental Leadership, underscoring her role as a trailblazer in conservation and a symbol of Arab excellence on the world stage.
