Olympus and Proximie Unite to Digitize ORs for Global Collaboration

Olympus has announced a new collaboration with Proximie to launch an advanced health tech platform aimed at digitizing operating rooms (ORs) and transforming healthcare collaboration. Proximie, known for its cloud-based platform, enables real-time sharing of live clinical video, audio, and images from the OR, allowing healthcare professionals to connect with colleagues and vendor partners worldwide. This collaboration aligns with Olympus’s mission to enhance patient outcomes by breaking down geographical barriers and promoting clinical and operational best practices through telecollaboration. In the United States and Canada, Olympus and Proximie have established a preferred partnership, reflecting the strong focus on expanding telecollaboration capabilities. “We’re thrilled to partner with Proximie to deliver a premier digital health platform that includes advanced telecollaboration features,” said Engin Demirel, Olympus’s Global Head of Commercialization for Endoscopy Solutions Ecosystem (ESE) and EMEA Head of ESE. “Together, we aim to bridge learning gaps and empower healthcare professionals with the resources they need to improve patient care and outcomes. Such collaborations are vital for the future of digital healthcare.” Proximie’s versatile, device-agnostic platform allows for real-time collaboration, training scheduling, and video capture from any source, accessible from any browser or mobile device. It supports up to four high-definition, low-latency video streams and offers advanced features such as annotation, chat, screen sharing, and tablet control. The platform’s content management tools further enable the transformation of individual expertise into valuable, shareable video content. “We are thrilled to formalize our global partnership with Olympus, highlighting our shared commitment to expanding access to surgical and procedural knowledge and promoting global healthcare equity,” said Dr. Nadine Hachach-Haram, Proximie’s Founder and CEO, and the TAKREEM Foundation’s 2018 Young Entrepreneur Laureate.
