Nora Joumblatt, a respected Lebanese figure, is known for her women’s rights advocacy, particularly empowering rural Lebanese women in politics. Amid the Syrian refugee crisis, she co-founded the Kayany Foundation in 2013, aiding refugee children. During the Lebanese Civil War, she initiated the Beiteddine Art Festival. Formerly a painter, she founded Gallery 50-70 in Beirut. Nora remains committed to the arts, leading the Friends of the American University of Beirut Museum and the European Festivals Association. Actively involved in charities like the Children Cancer Center of Lebanon (St. Jude) and the Samir Kassir Foundation, she has been honored with titles like “Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite Français” and Commander of the Spanish Order of Isabella the Catholic. Married to politician Walid Joumblatt, she holds a BA in History of Art and Fine Arts from the École des Beaux Arts, Paris.
