NABIL HABAYEB - LEBANON
Nabil Habayeb, with over three decades of experience at General Electric (GE), has served as the President and CEO of GE Middle East, North Africa & Turkey (MENAT) since 2004. Focused on improving lives across the region, he aligns GE’s strategy with MENAT countries’ developmental goals through partnerships with governments, customers, and communities. Habayeb prioritizes sustainability, energy, and clean water access, exemplified by building six power stations in Algeria, creating over 1,000 jobs, and supporting more than two-thirds of the region’s electricity needs. GE also supplies 800 million liters of clean water daily to communities across the Middle East and North Africa.
In addition to energy and water, Habayeb has collaborated with ministries to address healthcare and transportation needs, such as launching mobile clinics for the Breast Cancer Screening Program with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health. Dedicated to local talent development, he increased GE’s regional workforce, raising local talent from 45% to 72%, with a target of 80%.
Gender equality is also a priority, demonstrated by the GROW program’s graduation of its first local female leaders in 2015. Beyond GE, Habayeb is active in the community, serving on the boards of INJAZ Al-Arab, the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington (AGSIW), the Arab Forum for Environment and Development, and the U.S.–Saudi Business Council. He is also a trustee at the Balamand University and the American University of Beirut.
