Mike Mussallem Honored with 2025 Medtech Lifetime Achievement Award

AdvaMed, the Medtech Association, has announced that Mike Mussallem, former Chairman and CEO of Edwards Lifesciences, will receive the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award at The MedTech Conference in San Diego, October 5–8. Mussallem, who led Edwards Lifesciences from its spin-off in 2000 until his retirement in 2023, transformed the company into a global leader in patient-focused innovation. Under his leadership, Edwards pioneered life-saving technologies, most notably transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), which has benefitted more than one million patients worldwide. He also established the Edwards Lifesciences Foundation, promoting philanthropy and volunteerism among employees, while expanding the company to nearly 20,000 people united around a “patients first” culture. Beyond corporate leadership, Mussallem has been a strong advocate for faster patient access to breakthrough medtech innovations and co-founded, with his wife Linda, the Mussallem CHD Alliance and their family foundation, both dedicated to advancing integrative health care and supporting underserved populations. This recognition adds to a distinguished list of honors for Mussallem, who also received the TAKREEM America Corporate Leadership Award in 2022 for his outstanding contributions to business leadership and social responsibility. The AdvaMed Lifetime Achievement Award is the medtech community’s highest honor, celebrating pioneers whose vision and impact have transformed patient care globally.
