Lady Hayat Palumbo is the owner and chair of Walbrook, a prestigious private members club in London, established in May 2000. The club is renowned for its impressive art collection and esteemed clientele, reflecting Lady Palumbo’s refined taste. Since 1986, she has lived in London after marrying Lord Peter Palumbo, a prominent property developer and Patron of the Arts, who previously chaired the Arts Council of Great Britain and The Pritzker Prize for Architecture. Initially, Lady Palumbo ran a needlework boutique specializing in hand-painted designs upon moving to London, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit. Alongside her passion for the arts, she actively supports charitable causes such as St Jude’s and Cancer Research in the UK. Before settling in London, she worked in journalism, contributing to the Daily Star and Jeune Afrique in Paris during the early seventies, and later at Actis International, an institutional PR firm. Lady Hayat, born and raised in Lebanon, tragically lost her father to extremist violence in his Beirut office when she was just sixteen. She holds a BA in Middle Eastern History from the American University of Beirut and a Master’s in International Relations from the Sorbonne in Paris.
