HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal was previously Crown Prince of the Hashemite Throne of Jordan from 1965 to 1999. He has established numerous international Jordanian institutes and committees, including the “Arab Thought Forum” in 1981 and “The West Asia – North Africa Institute” in 2009. His international impact includes proposing initiatives such as the New International Humanitarian Order, leading to the establishment of the Independent Commission on International Humanitarian Issues, endorsed by the UN General Assembly. Prince Hassan chairs and is a member of various international committees and organizations, including the Independent Bureau for Humanitarian Issues. He has received prestigious awards and honorary degrees from over twenty nations. Notably, in March 1987, he was awarded Jordan’s highest decoration, the Order of Al Hussein bin Ali, by the late King Hussein, in addition to numerous honorary degrees. Prince Hassan holds B.A. and Master’s degrees in Oriental Studies from Oxford University.
