HE SHEIKHA HALA AL-KHALIFA - BAHRAIN
HE Sheikha Hala Mohammed Al Khalifa is the Director of Culture & Arts at the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities. She began her career at the University of Bahrain, where she taught the arts, before joining the Qatar Museums Authority as Head of Art Education at the Museum of Islamic Art. She joined the Public Art Department as Education Manager and Curator. In addition to her extensive experience in art and museum management, Sheikha Hala is a renowned and refined creative artist herself and has showcased her work in renowned exhibitions worldwide, such as the Bahrain Annual Arts Exhibition. Her artworks were exhibited in many solo exhibitions in Bahrain and abroad as well. Sheikha Hala implemented the distinctive Artist Residency Project, where she set up the Fire Station: Artist in Residence Program, in Doha. Al Khalifa’s work has been acquired by several institutions including the Matham Museum in Doha, The National Museum in 17, and the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Museum of Fine Arts School & Tufts University in Boston Massachusetts and a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from UCL at the Slade School of Fine Arts in London.
