FAREAH AL SAQQAF - KUWAIT
Fareah Al Saqqaf is the Chairperson and Managing Director of LOYAC, which she founded in 2002 to address rising extremism and aggression among Arab youth. Having witnessed the Israeli aggression in 1967, the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War, and the invasion of Kuwait, Al Saqqaf felt compelled to act. LOYAC, a pioneering youth organization, serves over 3,000 individuals annually through its chapters in Jordan and Lebanon, providing innovative development programs that promote professional growth, talent, and community engagement among youth. With a degree in Economics from Kuwait University, Al Saqqaf has over 15 years of experience in the public and private sectors.
She previously worked at Kuwait’s Ministry of Planning, the National Investment Company, and Kuwait Airways. An accomplished writer and playwright, she also conducts workshops for teens, such as “7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens.”
Beyond LOYAC, she serves on the Advisory Board of the United Nations Development Program in Kuwait and is an active member of the Kuwait Red Crescent, Economics Society, and Women’s Cultural Society. Known for her advocacy of women’s political rights, she was nominated for the “International Women of Courage” award in 2008. LOYAC won the King Abdullah II Award in 2009, and Al Saqqaf was awarded the First-Class Medal of Honor by HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al Jaber Al-Sabah in 2014 for her contributions to youth development.
