The past years have witnessed enormous changes in the Arab region. During such times, art is used to express the struggles and dreams of entire generations, thus showing its true democratic nature. This panel will explore the ways in which the Arab art market reflects these changes and study the role of contemporary art institutions: places of cultural exchange, inclusiveness, and peace-making or mere galleries that cater to the taste of the elite?
