Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy is a pioneering Egyptian industrialist whose name has
become synonymous with innovation, vision, and leadership in the global power and
infrastructure sectors. Over the past three decades, he has transformed Elsewedy
Electric from a family-run cable manufacturer into one of the world’s leading providers
of integrated infrastructure solutions.
Under his leadership, the company has expanded its presence to 19 countries,
operating 31 production facilities and employing more than 18,000 professionals.
Elsewedy Electric now exports to over 110 markets and leads across five strategic
sectors: Wires, Cables & Accessories; Electrical Products; Engineering &
Construction; Infrastructure Investments; and Digital Solutions. Through a series of
strategic acquisitions, including Iskraemeco (Slovenia), PSP (Egypt), 3W Networks
(Australia–Dubai), PT CG Power Systems (Indonesia), and Validus Engineering
(Pakistan); El Sewedy positioned the company as a true global powerhouse in energy
and technology.
Beyond business, Ahmed El Sewedy is a passionate advocate for education and
sustainable development. In 2011, he founded the Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA)
to redefine vocational learning in Egypt and the Middle East. In 2019, he launched The
Knowledge Hub, a groundbreaking higher education platform hosting world-class
institutions such as Coventry and Nova universities, with several more in progress.
His exceptional commitment to bridging academia and industry was honored in
2024 when he became the first Egyptian Chancellor of Coventry University (UK).
A believer in entrepreneurship and climate action, he serves as Chairman of Chapter
Zero Egypt, part of the Global Climate Governance Initiative, and supports emerging
entrepreneurs as a “shark” on Shark Tank Egypt.
Recognized globally, he has been awarded the Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy
by President Sergio Mattarella and holds Honorary Doctorates from Amity University
Dubai, a testament to his enduring impact on industry, education, and international
cooperation.
