SAVE THE CHILDREN - MIDDLE EAST
Save the Children, an international aid organization founded in the US in 1919, supports short-term emergency relief and long-term development to improve children’s lives worldwide. Present in the Middle East since 1953, it now serves around 181 million people across seven regional offices, each addressing unique needs. In Syria, Save the Children provides critical aid such as food, clean water, shelter, and support for schools and health facilities.
In Jordan, it offers early childcare, informal education, life skills, sports activities, and food assistance for both Syrian and Jordanian households. Egypt’s focus includes quality education and essential care access for mothers and newborns, while in Iraq, Save the Children ensures safe water access, food vouchers for displaced populations, and protection for children from violence.
In Lebanon, the organization assists Syrian refugees with psychosocial support, education, and water and sanitation services. In the occupied Palestinian Territory, it supports child protection, helps children manage trauma and disability, improves crop yields for farmers, and provides employability skills for youth. In Yemen, Save the Children leads the humanitarian response, reaching nearly 150,000 children with food, healthcare, protection, and programs to combat malnutrition. Through its comprehensive regional efforts, Save the Children continues to be a beacon of hope for millions.
