Hatem Dowidar is the Group CEO of e&, a leading global technology and investment conglomerate operating across 16 markets. Joining the company in 2015 as Group COO and later as CEO for International Operations, Dowidar has driven transformative strategies that have propelled e& to regional prominence. Under his leadership, e&’s brand portfolio has become one of the most valuable in its region, and Forbes now ranks it as the most valuable publicly traded company in the GCC.

Dowidar’s strategic impact is widely recognized, with a significant rise in the Global Brand Guardians Index, reaching 22nd place globally and first in Telecoms for the Middle East and Africa. His visionary partnerships with industry giants like Microsoft and Meta are reshaping digital empowerment across societies.

With 32 years in multinational companies, including 25 years in telecom, Dowidar previously held top roles such as CEO of Vodafone Egypt, Group Chief of Staff at Vodafone Group, CEO of Vodafone Malta, and CEO of Partner Markets covering 45 markets. He serves on the boards of Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily), Maroc Telecom, and Etisalat Misr and contributes to global industry forums like GSMA and the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), where he is the only Arab member from MENA. Dowidar holds a Bachelor’s in Communications and Electronics Engineering from Cairo University and an MBA from the American University in Cairo. His career began at AEG/Deutsche Aerospace and Procter & Gamble before entering telecom.
