DAR AL ATTA' - OMAN
Dar Al Atta’a, a symbol of compassion and community unity, was established in Oman in 2002 by a group of dedicated women passionate about charitable work. Initially unregistered, this small initiative quickly gained recognition for its genuine altruism. In 2006, Dar Al Atta’a received official recognition under the Ministry of Social Development (Ministerial Decree No. 2006/76), a pivotal step that enabled it to serve and uplift underprivileged communities across Oman.
Meaning “The House of Giving,” Dar Al Atta’a’s mission is clear: “Improving the lives of the underprivileged in the Sultanate and encouraging giving through positive partnerships with donors and those in need.” Empowerment is at the heart of every initiative, as the organization believes in equipping individuals and families with tools for a sustainable, secure future.
More than just assistance, Dar Al Atta’a offers a transformative journey towards autonomy and dignity for those facing life’s challenges. The organization’s forward-looking plan aligns with its founding principles. Achievements through 2022, like the Al Atta’s Neighborhood Project, focused on community rejuvenation, and a goal of building at least 15 new houses annually, underscore its commitment to providing stability for more families. Dar Al Atta’a’s journey from a small, compassionate group to a national force for good showcases the power of collective compassion, reflecting Oman’s enduring spirit of generosity.
