AMINA LARAKI SLAOUI - MOROCCO
Amina Laraki Slaoui pioneered the Amicale Marocaine des Handicapés in the 1990s, Morocco’s first nonprofit dedicated to advancing the rights of people with disabilities. This organization evolved into Morocco’s first social enterprise, operating self-sustaining health services, including the Noor Hospital for Re-education, which offers unique rehabilitation programs in Africa. The hospital provides full hospitalization support to help individuals adjust to life after injury, with one-third of its patients receiving free care.
As President of Groupe AMH since 2011, Amina has focused on increasing the social inclusion of vulnerable individuals through impactful services in education, healthcare, and industry. Groupe AMH’s initiatives now include lobbying efforts to drive systemic change, especially within Morocco’s shifting political environment. The organization actively develops projects in competitive fields such as socio-medical infrastructure, textile, and industrial sectors.
Amina champions the potential of Moroccans to support and cultivate social entrepreneurship, particularly within the health sector. She believes Morocco’s culture of tolerance and innovation can foster powerful responses to social needs. Her work has distinguished her as a transformative figure in the Arab world, known for her dedication to creating high-impact solutions for those living with disabilities.
