A.M. QATTAN FOUNDATION - PALESTINE
The A.M. Qattan Foundation, founded in 1993 and registered in Palestine in 1998, is an independent, non-profit UK charity focused on advancing culture and education in Palestine and the Arab world, particularly for children, teachers, and young artists. Its three main programs foster development through unique educational and cultural initiatives.
The Qattan Centre for Educational Research and Development (QCERD) enhances educational standards in Palestine by offering professional development for teachers, library services, research support, curriculum resources, and scholarships. QCERD is known for pioneering the use of drama in education and, since 2011, has advanced science education through model laboratories, scientific literacy initiatives, and an interactive science museum study.
The Qattan Centre for the Child (QCC) in Gaza City houses over 111,500 books and multimedia resources, providing educational, cultural, and recreational services to over 65,000 children, parents, and professionals. In 2011, QCC also established an affiliated children’s center in Al-Maghazi Camp in Gaza. The Culture and Arts Program (CAP) nurtures young talent in arts, literature, and film, fostering cultural exchange between Palestine, the Arab region, and the world. In 2008, CAP launched the Gaza Music School and The Mosaic Rooms in London, a cultural hub highlighting the Arab world. Through its innovative programs, the A.M. Qattan Foundation remains a cornerstone of cultural and educational advancement in Palestine.
